Cupping Therapy

Massage has so many aspects to it. One of them is Cupping. Cupping massage feels amazing! One can feel a huge change within one session. When people think of Massage, many people think of deep tissue massage or light, Swedish Massage. What makes Cupping massage different? Cupping therapy is the only Modality that can give the body negative pressure. It has been in practice for over 5,000 years.

Around 1550 B.C. the earliest pictorial records were dated from the Ancient Egyptians. The oldest Egyptian medical book, Papyrus Ebers, explained the benefits of cupping therapy. Cupping treated fever, menstrual imbalances, pain, and improved gastrointestinal function. Cupping Therapy improves your chances of a successful IVF treatment, 33%-50% higher chance of success vs. without Cupping Therapy.

Hippocrates, the Father of Modern Medicine, believed in cupping as a medicine for many diseases in 400 B.C. Reducing subluxated vertebras and restoring spinal alignment, Cupping therapy was also used by the Greek Physicians. Here we are in the 2,000(s) A.D. and Cupping Therapy is being used in both, mainstream, and in alternative healing practices. When did you first hear of Cupping?

Countless celebrities like Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga and many more understand, and benefit from the benefits of Cupping Massage frequently. Athletes like Michael Phelps and Serena Williams use Cupping therapy to help their body heal faster before and after the demands they ask of it. Whether you are a Gold Medalist, or your physical activity is non-existent, cupping can help you heal!

If you suffer from headaches, your shoulders ache, you feel stressed (I need a 3month paid vacation to begin to function again, stressed.), if that’s you or a loved one please know that Cupping Massage can lift these symptoms out of your body. A Cupping Session allows you to have a moment to regroup. Cupping therapy lifts your fascial system (the webbing under the chicken or turkey skin) then with time the facia starts to let go and unwind. Giving your body the space it needs to function.

Are you afraid of getting the infamous “Cupping Marks”? Don’t be, the cupping marks happen when the cups are left on one place, it’s called Stagnate Cupping Therapy. Now, when they move, and wow do they feel amazing, they don’t leave the cupping marks. A mixture of both is great. The cool thing about the Cupping marks is that the color of the mark gives your therapist more information about the health of the underlaying muscles.

Does it hurt? It can if you want it to. We don’t judge, if a hurt so good is what you prefer that’s fine, it’s your session. We work with your level of comfort, we promise not to get mad, if you say it’s too much pressure. There’s no need to create pain, we’re here to help you live a more enjoyable life! Give yourself the Cupping Therapy you deserve!

  1. Thankyou for the education on cupping. I never took that course. I have had cupping on my back. It seemed to help but left bruising. I personally prefer a deep tissue massage ❤

    1. Hey Melissa, Don’t be afraid of the “bruising” it’s called Cupping Marks. The different colors and the time they last tell us how the health of that area is. The darker they are the more work that area needs. After a few sessions, you’ll see the difference in getting cupping marks. I also enjoy Deep Tissue massage!
