Modalities are the different techniques we use in Massage. To name a few Swedish, Deep Tissue, Myofascial release, Trigger Point Therapy and Neuromuscular Therapy are different Modalities. Which one is best for you? Well, it all depends on what your goal for the massage is. Yes, goal! Are you getting a massage to relax? Has your shoulder been bothering you? Do you feel a pull from your hamstring to your calf? Three people would not receive the same massage. They each require a different massage with different modalities.
Some modalities may overlap but if each client were to get three modalities each for example, all three clients will not receive the same three modalities. At the Hands of Life we do not itemize each modality and price them differently, except for cupping. When a client comes in they have full access to their Massage therapist’s tool belt. Meaning that their therapist can use one or more modalities in the same session. We feel that no one modality is best for a client. Unless The client specifies that they want one specific modality. The mix of modalities allows the therapist to cater to each individual client and give them a massage that best suits their needs.
Therefore, when a client asks, which modality is best for them. We tell them there is no one best answer in massage. We listen to what’s going on with your body and the goal you have for this massage. With that information, the Massage Therapist uses what they feel is best in their tool box. We communicate with you about the next steps and our pressure. We take care of you!
